Nursing Philosophy / Mission
We, the Members of the Nursing Department, strive to recognise
the uniqueness of each individual person and their right
to live and die with dignity and respect.
We aim to provide
holistic Nursing Care throughout the hospital based upon
the individual needs of each patient involving family and
relatives as appropriate.
Our nursing staff are renowned
for their dedication, expertise and professionalism. We are
commit-ted to ongoing training and devel-opment for all our
nursing staff. The Nursing staff collaborates with a multi-discipli-nary
team and work closely to ensure patients receive quality
and timely care.
A Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible for
each ward and together with a team of Nurses and Care Assistants
provides 24 hour nursing care.
The nursing corridors comprise
of:
Sacred Heart Corridor – An orthopaedic unit with
14 beds providing the following surgery:
- Total Hip and
Knee Replacements
- Foot and Upper Limb Surgery
- Neurological Surgery– Back
and Neck Surgery
- Ophthalmic Surgery (if beds available)
