Pastoral Care The Bon Secours Mission is "good help
to those in need". Chaplaincy services assist
in restoring and maintaining health to all who
come to be healed, recognising that the total care
of patients involves not only physical and psychological
aspects of the person, but spiritual care as well.
We respect the different cultures and value systems of all entrusted to
us.
A Chaplain is available to: |
- sit and listen
- offer emotional/spiritual/social
support
- offer prayer or Sacrament.
- enable patients in accepting
their disability/illness.
|
| Eucharist is celebrated
daily in our Hospital Chapel. Holy Communion
is distributed immediately afterwards to patients,
on request, by a Chaplain or Eucharistic Minister. |
All services from the Chapel are relayed to patients
through the Television on Channels 13 or 44.
Our Chaplains aim to support the patient to live and die their spirituality
to the end. This care extends to include the patient's family and significant
others.
The Hospital is visited regularly by Church of Ireland, Presbyterian and
Methodist Chaplains.
Spiritual Chaplains or Leaders of other denominations are contacted when
patients express the need and are always welcome. |
